When first launching a website, its normal to try and find ways to save money. Unfortunately, a lot of people try to cut corners on their website, especially using design templates.  A design template is never a good idea, they can look appealing, but they can also come with problems, such as:

Not Unique

There is nothing worse than designing your website, launching it and then seeing a website that is very similar to yours. And even worse, a company in the same industry! Unfortunately, when you decide to use design templates, there is a very strong chance that someone else is already using that template. As they are available to the public, with a few clicks of a button, they can have a very similar design to you!

Security

As tempting as it can be to save a few bucks and use a design template, it could cost you more money in the future. Unfortunately, security is not at the forefront of the design template websites, as anyone can design a template and upload it for anyone to use. In that template, code could be written which can potentially hack your website and access all of your data and customer data.

Functionality

Using a template can be very limiting as it can only do so much, it will not necessarily fit everything that you want and will therefore be limiting. When you have a website, you need it to do everything you want and more, it needs to be able to grow with your business.

When you have a custom-built website rather than using a design template, your website can expand as your business does. Do you now want to sell products online? Create a blog? Share your social media feed or have an online instant chat service? These are additional features that you cannot guarantee with a design template, however a web designer will be able to add as and when you need.

Remember, a customer website doesn’t automatically mean expensive. Are you a new company launching your first site? Then check out our Bella Business Bundle to save money today!
