A logo says a lot about a company, it provides customers with a glimpse of what the company may do, how they conduct themselves and will ideally draw a potential customers interest. It is also advisable to refresh your logo every few years – this doesn’t need to be a brand-new logo or any drastic changes, however it ensures that your logo is still looking fresh, professional and eye catching. When a company has been up and running for a few years, it is easy for things to be forgotten or that are left alone, ‘if it isn’t broken then don’t try to fix it’ right? Not necessarily. Your logo needs to look modern; it needs to be in keeping with the times and what your company, and most importantly, your target audience, want. This doesn’t mean that you need a brand-new logo, it just means that it is useful to ask a designer to have a look at your logo and give it a new lick of paint.

Ever heard the saying ‘a picture paints a thousand words’…? Well so can your logo! If your logo looks like every Tom, Dick or Harry’s then it isn’t doing its job or serving a purpose. It needs to be memorable; it needs to stand out from your competition and to grab customers attention. Some of the simplest logos (Coca Cola, Apple, McDonalds) are extremely basic, however they are known around the world. They have memorable logos and people recognise it on ads, in magazines or in the street. It doesn’t mean that they change their logo every 10 minutes, but they have all modernised their logos over the years. Have a search and see!
